Hardly a week goes by without online safety (e-safety) filling the news headlines. Whether it is the newest image sharing apps, how much time children spend in front of a screen or concerns with social media, online safety is a growing priority. With Ofsted now including online safety as part of their assessment of Safeguarding, it is vital that Early Years settings practitioners have a good understanding of online safety issues.

Our half-day training session will provide advice and guidance on online safety, give you simple ideas and practical activities to take back and implement in your own setting, as well as demystifying the latest Ofsted guidance.

Aims/Objectives:

  • Know the key features of good online safety practice
  • Find suitable teaching resources
  • Assess online safety practice in your own setting

 Audience: Early Years managers/ proprietors/ teachers

The session will be led by Kathy Olsson. Kathy is a CEOP ambassador trainer, 360 safe consultant and assessor and Naace CPD facilitator. She has over 20 years’ experience of teaching, leading and advising schools on ICT/computing and online safety.
