E2BN funds Tech4YoungCarers

E2BN has funded a project to enable young carers in Fenland, South Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire to access digital connectivity. This initiative is designed to provide laptops, internet connectivity, and digital skills training to young carers aged 14-25.

Tech4YoungCarers has been set up to tackle digital poverty and will provide digital devices, connectivity and skills training to 100 young carers.

The Tech4Young Carers scheme is designed to address this issue directly by providing devices, connectivity, and skills workshops tailored specifically to the needs of young carers, including how to stay safe online,” Elizabeth Anderson, CEO of the Digital Poverty Alliance

“By equipping these individuals with the tools they need, we aim to bridge the digital divide and support young carers in fully participating in their education and personal development. Our goal is to help them build a brighter future despite the barriers they face.”

E2BN is working with the Digital Poverty Alliance(DPA) Centre33, a local charity for the homeless, major telco Virgin Media O2 and Nottingham Trent University.
