The E2BN Core is currently housed at the Easynet hosting centre in Brick Lane, London. Security E2BN, in partnership with Easynet, provide security within the E2BN core down to the LA networks. All internet traffic is fire-walled and both VLE providers have anti-virus and anti-spam measures in place. DNS E2BN supplies a DNS service for all member LAs. The management of the DNS service is distributed so that LAs can manage the DNS entries for their own schools (.sch.uk). If schools have a problem with their DNS entry or wish to have changes made they should contact their LA in the first instance. NEN Interconnect E2BN, and all the other RBCs, connect to the UKERNA/JANET network which provides a highly resilient, high bandwidth, private interconnection between all the RBC network. This combined network is known as the National Education Network (NEN). It offers a secure and reliable platform for the delivery of educational content and services. |
