Videonations wins three year framework to supply The University of Nottingham with videoconferencing
Adam Feakins, Business Development Manager within the education team at Videonations says, “Since winning the tender for Nottingham University in June, we’ve supplied and installed videoconferencing systems within departments such as the Economics and Business school, Developmental Psychiatry and the Centre for Research Communication. For an organisation as vast as The University of Nottingham with multiple campuses based here and abroad in Malaysia and China, videoconferencing is the way forward. As well as facilitating distance learning and inter-campus communications in a more cost-effective manner, the technology is also hugely beneficial for supporting teachers in their CPD.”
Videonations is a leading independent specialist in the supply, installation and maintenance of integrated high definition (HD) videoconferencing solutions. In response to the growing use of HD videoconferencing within education, Videonations set up a dedicated team that specialise in delivering supplier neutral solutions either in partnership with local authorities and regional broadband consortia or directly with schools. Videonations has a wealth of experience in integrating videoconferencing to facilitate inter-site collaboration in particular within key stages 3 and 4.
Adrian Hancock, Director of Technology at Videonations says, “We have found that a key driver for videoconferencing within secondary schools is the travel to learn initiative of the 14-19 agenda. Essentially, this is where students based at different locations within a defined remit can be taught by a specialist diploma teacher based at a separate site. In my opinion, universities investing in videoconferencing will be at an advantage as they are taking learning to a level that many students will already be familiar with.”
