Peter Hemingway Memorial Prize

For the last three years the Peter Hemingway Memorial Prize has been awarded during the E2BN annual two day conference. Because projects often run from September to July many, otherwise eligible projects have not reached completion by the award deadline.
In recognition of this and to allow more schools to take part we have rescheduled the award timetable. 06th July - Application forms online 19th October - Closing date for entry 2nd November - Shortlist announced 12th November - Finalists notified 26th November - Award ceremony
The Peter Hemingway Memorial Prize was introduced to celebrate the work Peter did both in his LA and in the early days of E2BN before his untimely death in 2003. Peter Hemingway was the ICT Adviser for Milton Keynes and a highly respected figure across the East of England.
He understood that technology was there to serve learning and inspired teachers and other colleagues with his insight and imagination. The prize will be awarded for the achievement of positive educational outcomes, derived in whole or part, through the use of broadband, supplied by E2BN, within the classroom. The £5000 prize will be awarded for work that has already been undertaken and schools will need to include details of: • The pupil group involved • The curriculum area concerned • The activity undertaken by pupils and/or teacher(s) • The role of broadband in the activity • The educational outcomes expected and achieved • Evidence for impact of the activity • The anticipated use of the prize Application details and further guidance will be available on the E2BN website in July
