EducationCity.com has agreed to make available an extended free trial of their popular on-line BETT award-winning teaching and learning resource (EducationCity.com), used in over 5,000 schools.

The trial will be available to every school in each authority across the E2BN Regional Broadband Consortium. EducationCity.com is also offering a 25% discount for schools wishing to subscribe to the service before the end of the trial period.

The free access will last for eight weeks and will run from 30th April 2007 until 25th June 2007. You will receive an email and mailer from EducationCity.com shortly that will include your school's 'School Login Name', 'Login Password, and 'Feature Password' and instructions on how to use EducationCity.com. EducationCity.com contains a huge suite of curriculum mapped activities to be used on interactive whiteboards or in an IT suite for lesson delivery, as a lesson starter or to reinforce learning objectives. The resource also includes a Maths SATS practice module.

It covers Maths, English and Science from the Foundation Stage through to Year 7 and French, Spanish and German modules are also available. Crucially, all activities are hot-linked to educational objectives via online directories of the new Primary Framework and QCA Schemes of Work. EducationCity.com uses bright, colourful characters and animation to engage children and make learning both targeted and memorable.

The service also includes 'SuccessTracker' which tracks each individual pupil's progress and records all their achievements online. In addition, the EducationCity.com Test module allows personalised revision pathways to be created for every child. It is worth noting that teachers can 'log-in' at school or at home and teachers are welcome to explore the many features within the service. Home access for pupils is also available through the "Homework Module" on a cost-per-pupil basis. This allows teachers to set activities as homework and/ or allow access to the school's subscription at home.
