St Mary's Success

Three schools from the E2BN region won their respective age categories in the prestigious Making the News Competition 2006: St Mary's, St Neots, won the age group 10 and under. Elearning@Luton (Luton CLC), won the age group 11-14.

The Priory School, Bury St Edmunds won the age group 15 and above. All the winners and runners up, from across the UK, were invited to attend the Awards Ceremony, at the BETT Show, Olympia and were presented with certificates, gifts, cash prizes and software from celebrity actor Warwick Davis and chief sponsor Easynet. Other sponsors included Videonations, Software for Whiteboards, Learning Highways, Infomapper, E2BN, Learning Highways, TAG Learning, Channel 4, BBC and BSkyB. All three winning schools from the E2BN region, have won a visit to a real news studio, courtesy of the BBC or BSkyB. Making the News intends to develop the relationship with the world of media and provide even more opportunities for schools to develop their journalistic skills.
