Don't miss the deadline of the end of November to register with the Making the News Competition 2006. Its great fun, there are lots of prizes. Some winners will have the opportunity to visit a real TV newsroom in London and report on their experience. If you win, you will be invited to the Awards Ceremony in London where a celebrity will present you with your award and prizes. Visit the MTN Competition website for more deatils- see link below This is what teachers and pupils said about the competition last year: "The competition was an opportunity for the children to work together with a clear focus, an exciting possible outcome, and an expectation that they would produce work of a very high standard. They achieved all these and more.

The creation process was intense and hard work but great fun at the same time. The excitement at winning was tremendous and the trip to London to receive the awards a fantastic experience and one that motivated the children to continue making news stories of a high standard for the rest of the year. The children went to London and experienced the BETT show where they saw the latest ICT and spoke with professionals and adults about the competition and what they had learned in taking part. The competition was one of the highlights of the year and we look forward to taking part again this year." Julian Gabe, Deputy Head and ICT Coordinator, St Mary's CE Primary School, St Neots

"The competition was an ideal opportunity for the children to use their IT and writing skills. The school only has 32 pupils so to have two winners was quite an achievement. The two winners were really excited to win although only one of them attended the presentation." Brian Convey, Headteacher Milburn Primary School, Cumbria "When I went to London to get my award I really enjoyed it. I was really pleased that I had won and enjoyed the once in a lifetime experience. I would love to do it again but it probably won't happen to me. I will remember the experience for the whole of my life and will treasure the thought that I was one of fifty special children out of the whole of Great Britain who got the chance to meet the legendary Robin Cousins at this special occasion." Francis Year 5 "I felt really happy because it was a really good feeling knowing I had done a good job with my writing and of course I had £100!!! I was already going to London with the year sixes so it was a good ending to the school year!!"
