Young People's Film Awards 2009

The Young People's Film Awards 2009 took place this week at Kings Gate Community Church in Parnwell, Peterborough. It included films from across the schools within the Peterborough region.

The auditorium was filled with pupils, parents and teachers who attended this glitzy, red carpet event. Host, Michael Cross, the Key Theatre director, was joined by local actor Warwick Davis and Tom Felton, both from the Harry Potter movie.

All of the films nominated were played out on a giant screen and there was praise galore for the skills and imagination used to make them.

Chief Executive of Peterborough City Council, Gillian Beasley closed the ceremony and praised the films messages which varied from looking after the environment to stopping drink-driving.
