E2BN Conference Fantastic Success
E2BN's
tenth anniversary conference was a great success.
Opening the conference, Chris Kastel, CEO, reflecting on the enormous changes
that technology has brought said:
"The success of the schools' broadband rollout is a testament to the power of
regional collaboration but the successful integration of broadband technologies
in the classroom to enrich the learning experience only happened because of the
flexibility and dedication of the region's teachers"
Over 300 delegates enjoyed two days of excellent presentations, fantastic
workshops and opportunities to network and celebrate 10 years of schools'
broadband. Russell Prue as Master of Ceremonies showcased some of E2BN's great
content, Colin Penfold (Becta) praised two E2BN projects, ‘Clips' and ‘Engaglive'
for their contribution to a safer online experience for the region's schools,
Richard Sandford gave delegates a peek at possible futures and John Davitt
rounded off the conference with a highly entertaining look at new ways to
deliver the curriculum.
Delegates and exhibitors raised a massive £1164.74 to support Andrew and Amanda
Kirk, two of the region's teachers who are currently working with street
children and AIDs orphans, at their own expense, at the Amano Christian School
in Chingola, Zambia. Many thanks to all who contributed.
