Moggerhanger Lower School is a Winner

On December 22nd Bedford celebrates the launch of the Princes Trust in Beds and MK with the year's biggest party - the Jingle Bell Ball. Bedford Chiltern radio ran a competition to choose a choir to perform at the ball. To take part, schools had to select their favourite Christmas carol, in preparation for Chiltern Radio recording the song. Moggerhanger Lower School has 54 children in total ranging from 4 - 9 years of age and is located in the tiny rural Bedfordshire village of Moggerhanger. Representatives from St Johns Church and teachers at the school worked with the children, singing "In a starry night", to prepare them for the recording.
Listeners of Chiltern radio then voted for their favourite and after thousands of votes the number of entries was whittled down to a short-list of 2 schools. On Friday 12th December 2008, Sarah Thomson, the class two teacher from Moggerhanger was overjoyed to hear that the schools choir had won and would be performing on the 22nd December 2008. This is a massive event for such a tiny school and the children have been celebrating since. The children are now working hard to prepare a great performance at the ball and would like to thank all of those people who voted for them.
