Stondon Lower School are using PDAs in the classroom.
Stondon Lower School has been using PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) in school and finding them extremely useful . Read more to see what they have been using them for.
Every child in KS1 has their own PDA which is used to support their learning in a range of subjects. Examples of where they are being used are -
As a voice recorder to record Mr Men stories in Literacy.
Taking pictures around the village to support their geography field work.
They have been using the note pad in the numeracy lesson, especially in the oral and mental starter.
Taking pictures in their gymnastics lesson looking at a good balance and then these are used to discuss how they can improve their work in the next lesson.
Jill Davies the Headteacher of the school says, "We believe that our children may some of the youngest in the country to be working with these PDAs and we have been impressed with their enthusiasm and enjoyment!
We are only just beginning to discover the potential of these devices and there have been some inevitable technical hitches!
Next term the children will be taking them home to use in their home learning and we are sure the parents will be learning alongside them!"
