Just before half term Spaldwick Primary School entered the East of England Soup Competition.

The pupils had to use local produce, thinking of ingredients, and smells reminding them of Winter. The potatoes, carrots and onions were donated by Greg Bliss, a local farmer. Angel's Potato and Leek soup won Runner up prize and the school was awarded £100 prize money.

The school also ran their own soup competition, for which there were 24 entrants. The soups were then judged by blind testing and votes from the pupils of the school. Robert, who is Year 5 won with his vegetable soup, which was then cooked, eaten, and very much enjoyed by the pupils for their harvest lunch.
