Young Film Makers Awards- The Poscars
Peterborough's version of the 'Ocsars' celebrating the best of film making in Peterborough Schools, took place over two evenings, with glittering showbiz ceremonies. The secondary event (The Peterborough Young People's Film Awards) was held on the 10th July and the primary event (The Peterborough Children's Film Awards) on the 11th July, at the Broadway Theatre.
The primary awards evening was hosted by Star Wars and Harry Potter star Warwick Davis, and the Secondardy awards evening by Michael Cross, with the shortlists being introduced by guest presenters, some via videolink including Michael Palin, holding the golden envelopes.
The winners made their way to the stage in true oscars style, with the spotlight on them to collect their trophies. The photographs and talks to the press then followed.
There were many categories across the two evenings, including Nursery/Reception Drama (Traditional Tales), years 7 and 8 Documentary (Community), as well as years 9 and 10 Drama (Detective/Mystery). Please see below for the full list of winners. Louise who is part of the Lets Get Going Group took away the Best Animation award for the second year as well as the Best Overall Film, during the primary evening.
On closing the Secondary ceremony Mr Davies said he was looking forward to working with some of the stars of the evening in the future. Chris Kastel E2BN CEO, who attended the primary awards said "It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and the level of talent very was impressive"
